Jennifer Reink, DO and Donna Kurilla from Tamarack Health recently presented at the Rural Medical Training Collaborative (RMTC) Annual Meeting in Duluth, Minnesota, sharing innovative approaches to recruitment in rural graduate medical education.

Their session, “When Rural is Too Rural Reimagining Recruitment for Underserved Communities,” highlighted how they enhanced their Rural Emergency Medicine Fellowship recruitment by designing more candidate centered interview experiences and incorporating intentional, meaningful onboarding supports.

It is great to see our programs actively developing creative strategies to strengthen recruitment and support future physicians in underserved rural communities.

We are proud to highlight WiNC team members for presenting at the Rural Medical Training Collaborative (RMTC) Annual Meeting in Duluth, Minnesota.

Kevin O’Connell, MD, and Julie Richards presented “An Institutional Consortium in Progress” which examined the development and evolution of a regionally governed, multi stakeholder community consortium serving as an ACGME sponsoring institution.

Jami Kaiser, Kevin O’Connell, MD from WiNC, along with Marianna Worczak, MD from Tamarack Health presented “Reaching for Excellence as a Consortium.” Dr. O’Connell and Jami shared strategies for harnessing collaborative power to innovate, strengthen, and expand rural graduate medical education with Dr. Worczak highlighting the importance of partnership and shared leadership in advancing rural GME.
