Congratulations Kent Cook, clinical pharmacy specialist, on your Shining Star award!

"There isn't just one moment that stands out when it comes to Kent going above and beyond – because he does so consistently, every single day! Kent is a true beacon of knowledge and compassion. His unwavering commitment to putting patients first is evident in everything he does. He goes to great lengths to ensure timely, safe, and high-quality care, never hesitating to seek out answers when needed.

Kent embodies what it means to be a team player. He never says, 'That's not my job,' and instead steps up whenever he's needed. His collaborative spirit and willingness to ask thoughtful, challenging questions bring a valuable perspective to every conversation. He is one of the most genuinely collaborative individuals I've had the privilege to work with.

Professionally, Kent is both kind and respectful, treating everyone with dignity and grace. His integrity and work ethic inspire those around him - not just through what he does, but through how he carries himself. He leads by example, always striving to do more, give more and be more.

Thank you, Kent, for being exactly who you are. You are someone others aspire to emulate, and we are all better for having you on our team."

We’re heading into flu season – are you prepared?

Getting a flu vaccine each year is the most effective way to prevent influenza. Research shows that vaccination significantly reduces the risk of hospitalization and death due to flu.

It’s best to get your flu vaccine before November. Substantial flu activity can begin as early as November, and it takes a couple weeks for your immune system to respond and generate protection after vaccination.

Congratulations to Todd Grawlen and thanks for all you do! Todd is a courtesy attendant at the Wausau Center, who received the following Shining Star Award nomination:

"If you have entered the Wausau Center at door one you would have more than likely encountered Todd Grawien. Todd is the face of the front door, even with his mask on you can see him smiling. He is the first person to help someone out of a car, get a wheelchair or ask you if you have COVID symptoms. He will direct you to your destination with a smile. Todd is described by patients as kind, friendly and knowledgeable, he will go out of his way to say hello to everyone. He knows many patients by first name and often patients will seek him out to push their wheelchair so they can visit on the way to their appointment. Recently a patient stopped at the clinic to give Todd a Christmas card. Thank you Todd for being patient-centered and for genuine care of every person that walks through the front door at Wausau Center."
