May 16, 2025 – Due to a widespread cellular phone outage, some employees at North Central Health Care may be unreachable by cell phone. This may impact clients and patients in programs who have regular contact with case managers, service facilitators, or others.

If you are unable to reach an employee at their provided phone number during this outage, please call North Central Health Care's Guest Services Desk at 715.848.4600 to reach the program's landline directly. We will direct your call appropriately.

If you are calling to reach a department for appointments and questions, all standard phone lines are currently up and operating normally.

Your patience is appreciated as cell phone service is restored.

The NCHC phone and fax system outage that began on Thursday, March 21 is now ALL CLEAR. We have returned to normal business operations regarding the outage. We apologize for any disruption to services and thank you for your patience.

The NCHC phone and fax system outage that began on Thursday, March 21 is now ALL CLEAR. We have returned to normal business operations regarding the outage. We apologize for any disruption to services and thank you for your patience.

Marathon County, City of Wausau, and North Central Health Care are currently experiencing an intermittent phone outage affecting incoming calls to various County, City, and NCHC facilities. Technicians are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Incoming calls to 911 are not affected by this outage.

In Marathon County, to contact emergency services for law enforcement, fire, or EMS, please call 911. All 911 operations are fully functional and ready to respond.

If you are unable to reach North Central Health Care Crisis Center for emergency mental health and crisis services in Marathon, Lincoln, and Langlade Counties, you may contact the Crisis Center in one of the following ways:

• Visit NCHC Crisis Center in-person at 1150 Lake View Drive, Wausau, WI 54403
• Call 988
• Contact a local emergency room

All Marathon County, City of Wausau, and North Central Health Care facilities are open and available during regular business hours. The NCHC Crisis Center is open 24/7 for walk-in care and emergency mental health and crisis services.
