At PRO, Occupational Therapy (OT) and Physical Therapy (PT) share a common goal: helping you regain strength, mobility, and function so you can get back to the life you love.
While they often overlap, each has its own unique focus:
Occupational Therapy (OT):
- Helps you return to meaningful daily activities and tasks
- Focuses on hand-to-shoulder care
- Improves fine motor skills (like brushing teeth, crafting, or using tools)
- Creates custom-fit splints for the hand, wrist, and elbow
- Uses adaptive tools to reduce stress on your hands
Physical Therapy (PT):
- Improves full-body strength, movement, and physical function
- Focuses on large body movements
- Treats the legs, back, core, and neck
Shared Approaches:
- Treat shoulders
- Assess posture during work and activities
- Use ultrasound and electrical stimulation to reduce pain
- Provide home exercise programs
- Incorporate massage for recovery and pain relief
No matter your needs, our OT and PT teams work together to help you move better, feel stronger, and live fully.
