Happy FRI_YAY! Friendly reminder that your internal dialogue, or how you think and talk to yourself, is critical to your wellness journey.

We all have positive and negative thoughts (internal dialogue), but don't allow negative thoughts to hinder your journey.

Ways to improve your internal dialogue:
1) Acknowledge the thoughts.
2) Stop the negative self-talk (aka self-bullying) asap
3) Focus on kindness and positive accomplishments
4) Say 1 positive accomplishment every day
5) Set positive goals
6) Your worth is more than the scale (aka physical)
7) Keep practicing.

Weight bias is a real thing. Don't let your internal thoughts take over your wellness journey. Remember, shaming yourself is not motivational, so be kind to others and yourself.

One year ago, Whole You Wellness opened its doors with a simple but powerful mission: to create a space where people feel supported, seen, and empowered to become the healthiest, happiest version of themselves. Today, we celebrate not just a business milestone—but a year of courage, community, and incredible transformation.

Over the past twelve months, we’ve watched clients step into their strength, build habits that last, and discover what’s possible when wellness feels personal, accessible, and rooted in real connection. From early‑morning workouts to breakthrough coaching sessions, from shared victories to quiet moments of resilience, every step has shaped the heart of Whole You.

There are millions of health coaches in the U.S. today. Choosing the right health coach matters. Here are considerations when you work with a health coach:

1) Education matters. Make sure they are certified as a health coach. Bonus, they have a background in health and wellness (I.e. bachelor's or master's degree in health and wellness). Make sure they are truly credible. Trust your instincts.

2) Experience. What kind of experience do they have? Make sure they have professional and relatable experience.

3) Are they relatable? Can they relate to clients? This is a big one for me! There is more to this field than education and accountability. Can they truly appreciate and empathize with clients?

4) Do they stay within their scope of practice? I won't get too detailed here because this is something that makes me cringe daily; however, a legit health coach and personal trainer must stay within their scope of practice. For example, selling medications or supplements, providing meal plans, etc., is not suitable and within their scope of practice. Stay away!!!

5. Does their personality mesh well with yours? Yes, this matters. You have to be able to connect, relate, and feel comfortable with your health coach.

6. Long-Term Success and Trust. Many clients stay with me for years, not months. Take this into consideration when working with or considering working with a health coach.

New Month, New growth opportunities.

Take today to not only punk someone (not me, LOL), but to celebrate your next opportunity for growth and goal-setting. I like to start every month with reflection and goal-setting. But don't dwell on the negative; use it as a growth opportunity as you look forward.

Mindset is one of the strongest indicators of success. This April, choose one positive goal you want to nurture for yourself. And remember — it’s not just about the end result. What truly moves you forward is the behavior that supports the goal. Try thinking in simple, sustainable actions.

For example, add 1 day of walking for 20+ minutes to your current routine.

Small steps, repeated consistently, create real change.

💬Wellness Talk: What is Your Why?
When you think about the answer to this question, here is my tip: Make sure weight loss is NOT your only "why."
If weight is your only reason for improving your lifestyle, you will be disappointed at some point in your health journey. There is so much more to health than your weight. So take it from me, there is more to health beyond the scale, including:
-Labwork
-Energy
-Nutritional habits and eating nutrient-dense foods
-Quality of life
-Exercise and your cardiovascular endurance
-Muscular strength and endurance
-Ability to perform daily activities, like carrying groceries.💪
-And much more.

BMI, which is a number based on your height-to-weight ratio, is not always an indicator of health. Make sure you can meet and sustain a goal weight for your body type.

It's your behaviors that will assist you in your weight loss and health goals. Reach out for health coaching support.
