Wausau Surgery Center is the only ambulatory surgery center in North Central Wisconsin with an Advanced Total Joint Program recognized with Distinction.

This designation reflects our commitment to high clinical standards, advanced training for staff and physicians, and comprehensive patient education on both surgical and non-surgical joint care options.

Patients in our region now have access to nationally recognized joint care in a convenient outpatient setting.

🚴‍♀️ Biking Through the Alps, Powered by WSC!

Our Administrator, Carmel, recently biked through Switzerland and France, an incredible adventure made possible thanks to her bilateral total hip replacements performed by Dr. Sutherland at Orthopaedic Associates of Wausau - OAW and Wausau Surgery Center!

Her journey is a true testament to the life-changing impact of quality care and teamwork between our surgeons and staff. From the operating room to the mountain trails - we love seeing our team members living life to the fullest!

Meet Karen, our incredible Business Office Manager, who has been part of the Wausau Surgery Center family since 1999!

For 26 years, Karen has helped keep things running smoothly behind the scenes — always with a smile and a spirit of teamwork. “We’re like a close-knit family working together to have the best outcomes for our patients,” she shares. “Our physicians truly care about us as part of this awesome team. We work hard, get things done, and have fun doing it. Best job ever!”

This month, as we recognize Breast Cancer Awareness, we also celebrate Karen’s strength as a 7-year breast cancer survivor and warrior. 💪
