2️⃣ Maintain Proper Hydration: Staying hydrated before surgery supports a quicker recovery and helps reduce post-op nausea, anxiety, and headaches.

3️⃣ Prioritize Restful Sleep: We encourage you to get a full night’s sleep before surgery, even if you feel anxious. After surgery, listen to your body and allow time to heal. Healing is hard work, and feeling tired is normal.

Meet Terrie Tucci, one of our incredible nurses at Wausau Surgery Center!

Terrie has been a part of the Wausau Surgery Center team since 2006. She brings over 21 years of nursing practice to our excellent team! 🌟

Terrie shares with us what inspired her to become a nurse: "My dad had an accident when I was little; he had multiple surgeries. I became his 'little nurse helper' at home, which inspired me to become a nurse when I grew up."

When asked what she enjoys most about working at Wausau Surgery Center, Terrie highlighted that having an excellent work-life balance is important to her, allowing her to spend more quality time with her kids.

💙 Meet Greg Tennant, Our Central Sterile Processing Technician! 💙

Greg has been a CS tech for 28 years and has been part of the Wausau Surgery Center team since 2022.

His interest in sterile processing began while studying to become a surgical technician. A mentor inspired him to pursue this field, and Greg received all of his training on the job, gaining hands-on experience that shaped his career.

Greg loves the team-oriented environment of an ambulatory center and enjoys working alongside coworkers who are always ready to help and support one another.

Meet Ali Berg, one of our fantastic nurses here at Wausau Surgery Center!

Ali joined the WSC team in December 2024 and has been a registered nurse for 8 years. She chose to become an RN because she truly enjoys the healing process and finds purpose in helping people through it. 🩺✨

Ali was drawn to working in an ambulatory surgery center because she wanted more direct patient care and a pace that allows for meaningful patient interaction, something she felt was harder to achieve in a hospital setting.

One of Ali’s favorite parts of nursing at WSC is the nurse-to-patient ratio, which allows her to build connections with patients. This approach gives her the opportunity to truly get to know patients, not just care for them.

Anna joined the WSC team in June 2022 as a new graduate from the surgical tech program at NTC. Her healthcare journey began in high school after she took a personality quiz, where surgical technology landed in her top three career matches. From there, Anna knew she wanted to pursue a path that allowed her to help others every day. 🩺✨

When asked why she chose to work at an ambulatory surgery center, Anna shared that she loves the close-knit community of a smaller surgery center. Compared to a hospital setting, WSC offers the family-like atmosphere she was looking for, and that sense of connection makes all the difference.
