Today on World IBD Day, we recognize the strength of those living with IBD and the challenges that often go unseen, including pain, fatigue, anxiety, and stigma.

Living with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis affects far more than the digestive system. These conditions can impact mental and emotional health, relationships, school, work, and everyday life.

At GI Associates, we’re here to provide compassionate, specialized care and support for every step of the journey.

Most people don’t think about their liver until something is wrong. Many liver conditions, including fatty liver disease, can develop quietly and are often first found through routine labs or testing.

If you’ve had abnormal liver enzymes, risk factors like diabetes or excess weight, or questions about your liver health, it’s worth getting checked.

If your liver health has been on your mind, GI Associates is here to help.

Cinco de Mayo! A celebration for your taste buds…but not your esophagus.

Matt Brewer, RN, Director of Endoscopic Services, knows some of the biggest GERD triggers are all on the menu today, like spicy foods, citrus, and alcohol. 🌶️🔥

If heartburn tends to stick around after the party, a few small changes can help:
• Watch portion sizes
• Limit trigger foods
• Avoid late-night eating
• Don’t lie down right after eating

Frequent heartburn isn’t something to ignore. If it keeps coming back, come see us. https://giassoc.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/GERD.pdf

After 27 years, 4 months and 3 days with GI Associates, Bruce Spatz, PA-C is stepping into a well-earned retirement. 🎉

While we’ll miss having him here, we’re excited for what’s ahead, especially time outdoors and a new puppy who’s about to get a great hunting partner.

Wishing Bruce all the best in this next chapter.

Dr. Eric Johnson grew up in northern Wisconsin, and that connection still shapes how he practices today. He genuinely enjoys the work, and it comes through in the way he cares for patients. It’s the kind of connection that matters. https://giassoc.org/provider/eric-a-johnson-md/
