From another forum on facebook, "His comment is gone now, but David Oberbeck asked me, "Keene had a figure of 78.3 million for 2017...does that include the theatre, liberty mutual, Wausau chemical, etc... .Can you request an updated number with all the 2017 planned debt? ?"
His answer is that when you add in debt related to the theater, Liberty Mutual and Wausau Chemical, MaryAnne Groat projects that city debt at the end of 2017 will be at $101,607,304."

David Oberbeck posted this elsewhere, "From page 53 of the 2015 CAFR (Comprehensive Annual Financial Report) ... page 54 summarizes the interest being paid on this debt up until 2015... the new CAFR will be available in June for the Year 2016... this will tell the story of how the city stands as of 12/31/16.

I believe that this quote from the administrator confirms my thought that the booking of Ted Nugent (who is an amazing guitar player by the way, an all time great) is in fact a statement of values. The quote indicates intent. I am willing to accept the booking of the Wisconsin Valley Fair is a complicated thing, with many things pushing and pulling for influence. But, I believe at some point a small group of people sat around and discussed the fall out from booking someone as controversial as Ted Nugent, and decided that they would go ahead and do it. I think the Fair Board is going to have to issue a statement on this choice.
