The Scrap Iron Kid

The Scrap Iron Kid Pa had taken Ma to the hospital about a week ago and now she is coming home. The kid is waiting anxiously to see if mom is o,k.. The Kid does't know .

The Introduction to this story is critical to understanding "Why" The Kid follows Pa around the junk yard and is anxious to help whenever he can. Ma has just come home from the hospital after losing a baby. Ma really wanted a brother or sister for The Kid to grow up with. Mom had lost Patrica to pneumonia at seven months old and Mom still has the results of polio that she had as a child. Losing another baby was just too much for her. The Kid was very worried if mom would be o.k. or not He is waiting by the fence for Pa to bring her home. Ma is not well and needs lots of care and bed rest. Pa asks the Kid if he would like to hang out in the junk yard with him for a bit. The Kid is excited and says " Ya, sure, I'd like that,Pa. Pa teaches him integrity, trust, work ethics, truth, and more. The Scrap Iron Kid learns what love really is. There is not any negative teachings nor any words or pictures that would be offensive to family values.
