What is Red Light Therapy?
Red light therapy, also known as photobiomodulation, is a non-invasive treatment that uses a spectrum of red light to pe*****te the skin at varying depths, with wavelengths ranging from low-level red to deep near-infrared. When absorbed by cells, this light is converted to energy, kickstarting natural cellular activity and boosting collagen and elastin production.

By supercharging cell function, red light therapy triggers the body’s natural healing and repair mechanisms while reducing inflammation.

Red, Near-infrared and Blue Light Therapy for the Face

When directed at the face, perhaps the most popular treatment area, red light therapy provides advanced anti-aging, increasing collagen and elastin within the skin to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, improving skin texture and radiance while helping to fade scars and blemishes for a more even skin tone.

Our Celluma Red Light panels offer a variety of wavelengths, from red (633nm) to plump and tighten, deep near-infrared (1072nm), which reaches the deeper layers of skin to target more pronounced signs of aging, including crepey skin and stubborn lines around the eyes and mouth and blue light therapy (470 nm) that works more superficially reducing redness, inflammation and reducing bacteria on the skin to improve acne.

Using red/NIR and blue wavelengths together can ensure that multiple layers of skin, as well as subcutaneous tissue, are given a full therapeutic boost.

Red Light Therapy for the Stomach

While some studies suggest red light therapy can assist weight loss by breaking down fat cells, by boosting collagen and elastin production in the skin, red light therapy can also help tighten the area for a smoother, firmer appearance.
Meanwhile, by encouraging circulation and reducing inflammation, red light therapy, specifically near-infrared and deep near-infrared wavelengths, has applications for abdominal health, helping to heal tissue and relieve pain. Even more impressive, some research suggests treatments may improve gut health, strengthening the microbiome by balancing bacteria, supporting digestion and overall wellbeing.

SITTING ON MY YOGA STUDIO FLOOR CRYING…Isn’t that just silly and unexpected 🙃 I’m really surprised at how emotional I am today thinking about how Tuesday’s 8 am yoga class this week will be the very last time I teach on this beautiful floor that has graced our studio and held space for so many since we opened back in 2011. The unfortunate water damage we experienced from the flooding is resulting in full replacement with deluxe vinyl planking. The office however, is pretty exciting…GOODBYE old carpeting….she’s getting the new vinyl planking too 🤗 I guess I should get it together and finish packing up the office. Just needed to chat ❤️ Our studio and spa will be closed Wed. 8/6-8/11. Re-opening 8/12.

Huge appreciation to our amazing friends Dawn, Kevin, Kathy, Glenn, Austin, and Sue for their incredible support following the flooding in downtown Wautoma Wednesday. Thanks to their swift response, selfless efforts in my studio and diligent water clean-up, the damage was significantly minimized, allowing us to continue our classes and spa services without interruption. Another shout out to CapSell for their quick response as well. Shannon was onsite that night checking on all of the tenants and professional water removal crews were at our building the next morning. ❤️ GRATEFUL! XO, Cathy & David
