We want to thank the group from OPK9 for coming to Waushara County. OPK9 is dedicated to providing specialized training and emergency support for law enforcement and first responders to treat wounded working K9s. Members of Waushara County EMS, Waushara County Shieriffs, Wautoma PD and Adam's County Sheriff's came together to learn and plan on handling the onscene medical care of local K9 officers.

This week during EMS Week we had the honor to highlight how teamwork in our community can lead to lives saved. On March 8th there was a cardiac arrest. The team all pulled together and tonight we were able to see the patient who survived the event. Bystander CPR lead by dispatch was initiated, Law Enforcement and EMR/s arrived with AED's and took over CPR. EMS crews arrived and stabilized the patient and transported.

The Waushara Run For Hope 5k & 1Mile Run/Walk is on Saturday May 16, 2026. It includes the following events: 5K Run / Walk, 5k Run / Walk WITH Pet Registration, 1 Mile Stroll For Hope, Virtual 5K Run / Walk, and Virtual 5k Run / Walk WITH Pet Registration.

Our tactical paramedics are highly trained emergency medical paramedics who deliver specialized, immediate care to personnel in high-risk, dangerous environments, such as SWAT operations, hostage situations, or active shooter scenarios. They operate in "hot" or "warm" zones, providing care during active threats where traditional EMS cannot enter. Today they showed just how physical the job can be.

On Tuesday May 12, 2026, Wild Rose Elementary students Forrest Clark and Bentley Klingenberger found that the Wild Rose EMS station had their garbage cans tip over from the wind. Without hesitation and without being told by an adult they picked up all the garbage that was blowing around the EMS station and the neighborhood.

Wild Rose Police Chief Nate Klapoetke and Waushara County EMS Deputy Chief Steve Woodstock surprised the boys with lunch and Award Certificates for their Random Act of Kindness! Great job boys!
