welcome M A R C H babies!

10 babies welcomed earthside this month, and somehow 5 (almost 6!) of them decided to come in over 9 lbs like it was nothing. just a casual reminder that women are out here growing, carrying, and birthing powerful babies with strength that will never not leave us in awe.

every single one of these births was different, but the common thread was the same: intuition, trust, and bodies that knew exactly what to do. it is such an honor to be invited into these spaces, to witness these stories, and to walk alongside families as they meet their babies for the first time.

Also of note, those birthday babies were born within 2 hours of each other! 🫶🏻

Each birth unfolded in its own rhythm. Long nights, steady hands, deep breaths, and families meeting their babies for the first time. There is nothing routine about this work, and I never stop feeling grateful to witness it.

January brought us just three sweet babies, and honestly it was exactly what we needed. 🤍

A slow winter season gave our midwives space to rest, reset, reflect, and pour back into themselves and their families. Birth work moves in rhythms we don’t control: seasons of fullness, and seasons of quiet. And sometimes, if we’re lucky, seasons that are soft and spacious and ever sweet.

Endlessly grateful for the families who trusted us with their stories, and gently welcoming whatever February has in store. 🌿

People often ask my opinion on whether big siblings can be present at a birth. While my answer is always the same ✨ it’s ALWAYS your choice ✨ I’ll admit, I love a sibling-attended birth, and gently including them in the birth is something I take pride in being good at.

There’s something deeply grounding about children being nearby. Curious, calm, already part of the welcome. Birth becomes familiar instead of frightening, woven into family life rather than set apart from it. It normalizes it.

And when those siblings were once the babies being born too… it feels like a quiet full-circle moment.

Chart review but make it ✨vibey✨
When we first transitioned to homebirth we met weekly at coffee shops, and then we got our 7106 office space and stopped. So nice to have a throwback to our roots and check out cute new spaces once in a while!

December babies, forever holding a special place in our hearts 🤍

From the first days of the month to the very last, December was filled with powerful labors, tender first breaths, and families meeting their babies earthside. Each birth carried its own story, its own magic, and its own reminder of why we do this work.

What a beautiful, grounding, soul-filling way to end the year: surrounded by strength, trust, and new life. We’re endlessly honored to walk alongside these families and welcome these little ones into the world.

Here’s to closing the year held by birth, and stepping into the next one with so much gratitude ✨🌿

Meet the Midwives is a wonderful opportunity to connect with the providers who make up Génnisi Birth Services, put faces to names, and meet the midwives who may be present at your birth. It’s also a relaxed space to ask questions and learn more about midwifery care and home birth.
