Not all picky eating is the same.
✅ Normal: Saying “no” to broccoli sometimes
🚩 Needs support: Regular mealtime meltdowns, gagging, or refusing whole food groups

Our feeding team helps kids explore new foods in a safe, playful way — and helps families enjoy mealtimes again. 💬💛

Did you know… birthday parties can be therapeutic? 🎉🧁
Recently in Food School, we celebrated our stuffies’ birthdays with a themed session to encourage pretend play, food exploration, and social connection!
Big thanks to Ms. Rachel for always making therapy feel like a party 🎈

✨ Look who’s talking (and babbling, waving, and pointing)! ✨
Around 12 months, little ones start hitting some big speech + language milestones — from saying their first words to showing off those sweet “hi/bye” waves. 💬👋
Every child develops at their own pace, but knowing what to look for can help you celebrate each amazing step! 💛

Rhythm sticks aren’t just for music — they’re great for building speech and language skills too! Try tapping out syllables in words, taking turns with “my turn/your turn,” or following simple directions like “tap high, tap low.” It’s a fun way to support listening, coordination, and expressive language all at once! 🥁✨

🏫 After-School Crabbiness: What’s Going On?

It’s common for kids to come home from school tired, cranky, or even withdrawn. School days take a lot of energy — listening, following directions, social interactions, and transitions can leave kids feeling overloaded by the time they get home.

1. Give Space First
2. Offer Regulation Before Conversation
3. Choose the Right Moment
Kids often open up later — at bedtime, in the car, or during an activity. Follow their lead instead of forcing “Tell me about your day” right away.
4. Ask Open, Simple Questions

Snack Foods & Sensory Needs

Snacks aren’t just about filling little tummies — they can also meet important sensory needs for kids. The textures, temperatures, and flavors of foods provide feedback that helps children regulate their bodies, focus their energy, and feel more comfortable during transitions.

Some favorite combos: Veggies and Hummus, Apples and Nut Butter, Boiled Egg & Mini Muffin, Crunchy Strawberries or fruit leather!

Drop a comment with your favorite after school snack or if you need some ideas!

🗣️ Speech & Language at Age 2 – 5 Quick Milestones:

1️⃣ Uses 50+ words
2️⃣ Combines 2 words (e.g., “more juice,” “mama help”)
3️⃣ Follows simple directions like “Get your shoes”
4️⃣ Points to common objects when named
5️⃣ Enjoys naming things in books and everyday life

✨ Every child develops at their own pace — but if you’re unsure, early support makes a big difference!
