MCW Community Engagement Integrating MCW Community Engagement (CE) Mission throughout campus & our community to impact health.

The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) CE is dedicated to improving the health of communities of Wisconsin and beyond by advancing the art and science of community engagement and make the Medical College of Wisconsin a national leader in improving the health of the public. Community engagement is one of the four missions of the Medical College of Wisconsin and is richly embedded in our programs; the office provides an overview of community engagement definitions, focus and strategy for MCW to further its CE mission. Guiding Principles
• Develop mutually beneficial partnership with communities of Wisconsin
• Use bi-directional dialogue in having defined community programs and scope
• Have strong community-academic partnerships with equitable power and responsibilities
• Build capacity within Medical College of Wisconsin and the community, and effectively disseminate plan

Join us October 29 at noon for the October edition of the CE Spotlight series, where we will highlight the Opportunity Youth Project. Led by community organizations, local educational and workforce advocates, Marquette University, and the Medical College of Wisconsin, Opportunity Youth is a recently funded collaborative project focused on amplifying the voices of young people in Milwaukee who are often excluded from school and work opportunities.
