This week, Invigorating Motion Physical Therapy is honored to sponsor the fundraiser for Anabella’s kindergarten teacher, who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.

As a mom and small business owner, this one hits close to home. Teachers pour so much love, energy, and dedication into our kids every day and now it’s our turn to give that love and support back to her. 💪

We’ll be set up outside Lighthouse Boutique to help raise funds and awareness stop by, say hello, and join us in showing this amazing teacher she’s not fighting alone. 💞

Just because you’ve been cleared doesn’t mean you’re truly ready. ✅

After surgery, many athletes are told they can return to sport—but often no one checks the boxes that actually matter on the field, court, or gym floor.

That’s why I go beyond the doctor’s clearance and make sure you’re confident, strong, and prepared for the demands of your sport.

🚨 What is Hip Impingement (FAI)? 🚨

FAI (Femoroacetabular Impingement) happens when the ball and socket of your hip don’t move together as smoothly as they should. This can sometimes cause hip or groin pain, pinching, or stiffness.

👉 But here’s the important part:
Most people will feel “impingement-type” symptoms in their hip at some point in their life. This does not always mean something is wrong or that it needs fixing — it can be a very normal experience.

If you’ve been diagnosed with hip impingement, the focus should be on you as an individual and your goals, not just what your imaging (X-ray or MRI) shows. Many people manage symptoms and continue to train, play sports, and stay active.

💪 Here are some helpful exercises for hip health & control:

🔹 Banded Hip “Distraction” – creates space and eases pressure

🔹 Seated internal rotation – targets deep hip rotators

🔹 Banded Wall Clams – builds lateral hip stability

🔹 Copenhagen Lifts – challenges adductor strength and hip control

💪 Why Every Overhead Athlete Should Care About the Serratus Anterior 💪

If you throw, lift, spike, swing, or press overhead — this muscle is a game changer. The serratus anterior plays a key role in scapular stability, shoulder mechanics, and injury prevention.

Without it firing properly, your shoulder is at a higher risk for: 🔥 Impingement
🔥 Labral or rotator cuff issues
🔥 Decreased power and control

Strengthening this underrated muscle helps keep the shoulder blade moving smoothly on the ribcage — allowing for better force transfer, improved mobility, and long-term joint health.

Check out these go-to exercises I use with my athletes to activate and build strength in the serratus. 🏋️‍♀️
