An update for Ohio Medical Ma*****na Control Program patients and caregivers regarding Issue 2:
- Only Medical Ma*****na Control Program patients and caregivers with an active recommendation and registration are permitted to purchase medical ma*****na in Ohio’s licensed dispensaries, and the general public is not permitted in dispensaries at this time.
- Dispensaries are not permitted to offer non-medical cannabis for sale at this time.
- The new division tasked with regulating non-medical cannabis has nine months to complete the rulemaking and licensing processes. Sales of non-medical cannabis may not begin until non-medical licenses are issued and facilities are certified.
- Once non-medical cannabis sales begin, they will be subject to an additional 10% excise tax, to which medical ma*****na sales are not subject.
