๐จ Health Alert: Measles Case Confirmed Near the Cedar Valley๐จ
As an organization that supports people with disabilities, young children, and other vulnerable individuals, we take public health seriouslyโand we want our community to stay informed.
Iowa health officials have confirmed a case of measles in Eastern Iowa, with several potential exposure sites identified.
What Iowans should know about Measles:

Spot the symptoms: High fever, cough, red eyes, runny nose, and rash

Check your vaccination status: Two doses of the MMR vaccine are 97โ99% effective
โ
Traveled recently? If youโve been somewhere with measles cases or may have been exposed, monitor closely.
If you think you have symptoms, call your healthcare provider before visiting a clinic to avoid further exposure, especially to individuals who are immunocompromised or unable to be vaccinated.
