Waxahachie ISD Names Morgan Burnett as WISD Director of Health and Wellness
Waxahachie, Texas — Waxahachie Independent School District is proud to announce the hiring of its new Director of Health and Wellness, Morgan Burnett. She brings a wealth of experience in healthcare, education, and student support services to the district.
Ms. Burnett has served as Dean of Health Sciences at Waxahachie Global High School since January 2019, where she led the development and expansion of the school’s Health Science Pathway. In this role, she oversaw clinical partnerships, managed compliance and documentation for student rotations, secured grants, and provided dual credit instruction in partnership with Navarro College. She also played a key role in student engagement through leadership in HOSA and campus-wide event planning.
Her professional background includes extensive clinical experience as a Registered Nurse across multiple healthcare systems, specializing in labor and delivery, postpartum care, and neonatal services. She has also served as a Health Science Instructor and School Nurse, supporting the health and educational needs of over 1,700 students and 120 staff members in Corsicana ISD.
Her certifications include NCC Certification in Inpatient Obstetrics, and Texas Educator Certification.
She holds a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus in Nursing Administration (GPA 4.0) and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington, as well as an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing from Navarro College. A valedictorian graduate of Granbury High School, she has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to excellence in academics and service.
As Director of Health and Wellness, she will oversee district-wide initiatives focused on student and staff health, wellness education, and the integration of health services to support academic success.

Morgan has a son named Oakley, a 6th grader at Howard Junior High.
