🎉 Honoring Dedication & Service 🎉

Each year, Baptist Village proudly recognizes team members who have dedicated 5 or more years to serving our community. ❤️

This year’s celebration was nothing short of special — honorees were treated to an elegant meal featuring prime rib, loaded baked potatoes, salad, roasted asparagus, dinner rolls, and a delicious tiramisu dessert, all in beautifully decorated surroundings.

We do this to honor their commitment, longevity, and the meaningful impact they make on the lives of our residents every day.

This year’s honorees collectively devoted 455 years of care, compassion, and ministry to residents and each other, in milestones of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and 50 years of service. In addition to other presentations, each recipient received a lapel pin marking their milestone year.

🎶 What a heartwarming day at Plantation Suites! On July 29th, our residents were treated to a special visit from a local senior choir who filled the halls with patriotic spirit and sweet harmonies. Voices joined together in song, smiles lit up the room, and memories were made as we celebrated community, music, and the love of our great country. On June 19th, our nation observes Juneteenth, a pivotal day in American history that marks the effective end of slavery in the United States.

📜 This day commemorates June 19, 1865—when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced the freedom of enslaved people, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

Scammers are targeting individuals through phone calls, posing as officials from Medicare or Medicaid. Stay informed and protect your personal information!

📞 Common Scam Tactics:

Medicare Scams:

“You need a new Medicare card.”

“We’re offering free medical equipment.”

“Please verify your Medicare number.”

Medicaid Scams:

Calls or texts about re-enrollment.

Threats of losing coverage if you don’t respond.

Requests for personal or financial info.

🛡️ Protect Yourself:

✔️ Medicare and Medicaid will never call you out of the blue for personal info.
✔️ Don’t share your Medicare/Medicaid numbers unless you initiated the call.
✔️ Be cautious of urgent messages, threats, or pressure tactics.
✔️ Report scams to reportfraud.ftc.gov or call 1-800-MEDICARE.

📍 If you have a loved one in a nursing facility, contact the facility directly with any concerns. They can help verify information and ensure your loved one is safe.

At Baptist Village Retirement Communities, we pause to remember and honor the brave souls who gave their all for our freedom.

A table set, simple yet sacred — each element a powerful symbol of love, loss, and everlasting gratitude.

🇺🇸 Memorial Day Weekend Worship Service 🇺🇸

Chaplain Mark Williams led a powerful Memorial Day weekend worship service in Mitchell Chapel at the J. Olan Jones Healthcare Center on our Waycross campus.

We gathered in gratitude to honor and pray for those who courageously gave their lives for the cause of freedom. 🙏 May their sacrifice inspire in us the selfless love of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. We lift up the families of our fallen heroes—may their homes and hearts be filled with strength and peace. 🕊️❤️
