It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Donetta Bradley of Waycross, Ga.
Donetta Bradley, affectionately known as Mama D, Shawty Red, or Donnie, depending on which joyful spark she carried that day—was born on September 22, 1947, to Donald Stone and Agnes Thomas. She received her early education in the public schools of Marion County, beginning a lifelong journey shaped by dedication, strength, and a deep love for others.
Donetta built a remarkable career rooted in service and hard work. She spent 25 years at Norton Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana, followed by 10 years with IU Health. After relocating to Blackshear, Georgia, she continued her commitment to caring for others as a Medical Records Clerk at McKinney Medical Center in Waycross, GA, where she faithfully served for 19 years. Donetta was a devoted member of Evergreen Church in Bristol, GA, under the leadership of Pastor Nathaniel Anderson, Jr., nourishing her spirit and forming lasting relationships.
Those who knew Donetta cherished her unmistakable presence, her loyalty, her love, and yes, her unforgettable bossiness and quick, fiery wit. She spoke her mind without hesitation and loved her family and friends with that same boldness. Her personality filled every room, and her strength, laughter, and honesty will forever echo in the hearts of those she touched.
Donetta lived a life that mattered. She built a legacy of resilience, compassion, and family that will continue to shine through the generations who follow her. Her imprint on our hearts is permanent and treasured.
On November 14, 2025, Donetta peacefully departed this life. She was welcomed into eternity by her parents, Agnes Thomas and Donald Stone; her brothers, Michael and Donald Stone; her children, Reginald Stone and Ramone Stone; and her grandson, Reginald Stone, Jr.
She leaves behind a loving family who will honor her memories always: her devoted husband of 43 years, Leon Bradley; her daughter, Monica Stroud; her sons, Rodney Stone and Ronald Stroud; and her sister Jackie Thomas (Kyle). She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and many dear friends whose lives she enriched.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Donetta’s sister and friend, Linda J. Sellers, and to her faithful coworkers who surrounded the family with love, comfort, and unwavering support during this time. May her beautiful spirit continue to guide and inspire us all.
