Residents of the Paine Estate were recently visited by Kevin, a mixologist from Total Wine & More, who talked about Prohibition Era drinks. He showed us the ropes on how to make a Sazerac (a whiskey-based drink) and a Bee's Knees (a gin-based drink). Residents sampled the drinks and ate delicious snacks, including deviled eggs, which were a Prohibition Era staple! We took a vote on the best of the beverages and the Bee's Knees was the resounding favorite.

Residents recently asked to learn about bees. A local farmer who keeps bees came in and taught us all about them! We even tasted raw honey. Residents loved the program, and loved the farmer's children, too, especially the amazing toddler beekeeper suit! To add even more value, resident Carolyn was able to share her expertise from her experience as part of her family- run commercial beekeeping business! 🐝🐝
