Our residents enjoyed a glorious outing to the New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill this week! The sun was shining, warming hearts and putting smiles on faces as we strolled through the beautiful gardens together.

The fresh air, peaceful scenery, and early hints of the season were a lovely reminder that after a long, snowy winter, spring’s beauty is just around the corner!

This week
Elizabeth Russell-Skehan
joined us for a movie screening with guided discussion of “Growing Through COVID-19”—a documentary that brought to life the dramatic story of what the 150 year old family-run Russell’s Garden Center, in Wayland, endured during the pandemic. Carriage House residents, several having their own personal stories of what the local small business has meant to them over the years, watched the movie and appreciated the time Elizabeth spent answering questions and sharing memories.

Carriage House residents had a great time in our latest Nature Connections program learning about rocks, minerals, and fossils!

From colorful minerals to fascinating fossils, residents enjoyed hands-on exploration and great conversation. A chinchilla, an animal who in the wild would shelter in rocky crevices, was a fun furry addition to the presentation. We love bringing the wonders of nature right to our community!

Love was in the air at Carriage House this Valentine’s Day! 💕

We kicked off the morning by burning a few calories during a fun workout with Joanne — the perfect way to get our hearts pumping before the festivities began.

Residents then enjoyed an amazing Sweetheart Luncheon featuring delicious lobster tail, savory beef Wellington, and decadent Black Forest cake. To make the day even more magical, Shelly Otis serenaded us with beautiful harp music that filled the room with warmth and romance.

A wonderful day full of friendship, smiles, and sweet moments!

Did someone say, “Snow?”

At Carriage House we decided that we don’t really need help from local meteorologists… we have a community of seasoned New Englanders —our very own prognosticators! The most popular prediction: we will see between 12-24” of snow!
