Our Doctors of Physical Therapy, Bryan Barker, Catherine Andrasko, and Jill Dolinko, proudly represented NJDPT at Kinnelon High School’s Health Fair, connecting with students and families about injury prevention, movement, and recovery.
Early education and access to the right guidance matter. Conversations like these give students practical insight into how their bodies move, how to reduce injury risk, and how to stay active long term.

If you have questions about movement, injury prevention, or staying active, speak with a Doctor of Physical Therapy on our team.
Thank you to Kinnelon High School for hosting and for the opportunity to be part of the day.

Elaine’s commitment to managing her Parkinson’s symptoms reflects how the right clinical strategy can directly support long-term mobility, independence, and quality of life.

Parkinson’s care requires a comprehensive, neurologically informed approach — addressing movement, coordination, and underlying neurological function.

Under the guidance of Dr. Phil Lombardo, PEMF is intentionally integrated into care as a key modality to support cellular repair, reduce inflammation, and optimize neurological function, alongside 40Hz light therapy to enhance brain activity, memory, and clarity, with boxing-based training and therapeutic exercise supported by Sabastian as part of the care team.

These therapies are strategically incorporated before, during, or after treatment sessions based on clinical evaluation, patient presentation, and response to care.

At NJDPT, this level of integration allows us to deliver individualized, one-on-one care that supports both immediate functional improvements and long-term neurological health.

Strength training is more than building muscle; it’s about preserving health and preventing injuries, especially for athletes.

In the latest Behind the Seams podcast, NJDPT's Dr. Melanie Eskin joined Nunzio Signore to explore why strength training is so important for athletes, particularly those with high levels of mobility in areas like the hips, lower back, and external rotation. Maintaining strength in these areas helps prevent injuries such as strains and fractures.

While rest is essential, they discussed how muscles need consistent stimulation to avoid losing tone or “shutting off” after just two to three weeks of inactivity. For athletes managing heavy training volumes, rest should be purposeful, not a complete avoidance of the weight room.

In-season strength training is just as critical as offseason training. Contrary to the misconception that athletes should stop weight training during the season, the focus should be on maintenance—preserving muscle tone, particularly in opposing muscle groups, to avoid injury and support peak performance.

Listen to the full conversation on Spotify or Apple Podcasts for insights on how to balance strength training, recovery, and in-season performance. 🎧

🚀 Proud moment for the New Jersey Doctors of Physical Therapy!

We were honored to be the first group of clinicians to participate in the groundbreaking course “Robot-Assisted Hip and Knee Arthroplasty: Biomechanical and Rehabilitation Implications” with Stryker Orthopedics.

Our clinicians learned directly from robotics physician pioneer Dr. James Cahill, who lectured on the history and latest advancements in robot-assisted THA and TKA. Even better—we didn’t just learn about it… we got hands-on experience demoing the MAKO total hip and knee robots!

We’re especially proud that our very own Dr. Melanie Eskin also presented on the rehabilitation implications of robot-assisted total hip and knee arthroplasty, grounded in the most current and up-to-date literature.

Bridging surgical innovation and rehabilitation science allows us to better understand what our patients go through in the OR so we can deliver more precise, informed, and effective care in the clinic.

At NJDPT, we believe early education plays an important role in lifelong movement and development.

We invite parents and caregivers to attend our Early Development Parent Workshop led by Dr. Alexa Schaefer at Maywood Library. This session focuses on understanding early developmental milestones, the role of movement in healthy growth, and recognizing when additional support may be beneficial.

Attendees will leave with practical, evidence-based tools they can apply at home, along with greater confidence in supporting their child’s development. This workshop offers a valuable opportunity to learn directly from a trusted pediatric specialist in a supportive and informative setting.

The 5K for Pediatric Cancer brought together so much of what we value at NJCPT: supporting wellness, connecting with our community, and showing up with purpose.

Our team provided guided stretching and compression boots for runners before and after the race, creating moments for recovery, conversation, and care.

It was an incredible reminder of who we are beyond the clinic, grounded in service, fueled by connection, and always committed to helping people move forward. 🤍💪
