Our Story
Overview
Centers for Neurosurgery Spine, and Orthopedics, is a new regional center specializing in back and neck problems as well as brain surgery. The surgeons selected to work at CNSO solve the most complex back, neck and brain tumor cases. Together, with the team at CNSO, they treat any type of back or neck problem, from muscle spasm, to herniated disc, scoliosis to reconstructive deformity surgery.
How We Are Unique When It Comes to Spine Care
What makes CNSO different from other treatment centers is its nonsurgical approach to back and neck problems. Most spine treatment centers are directed by surgeons who favor the use of spine surgery. At CNSO our multifaceted team takes all other options into consideration when developing a treatment plan. The other specialty physicians at CNSO, which are physiatrists, experts in physical medicine and rehabilitation, physical therapists, plus pain management doctors, have advanced training in the treatment of back and neck pain and are routinely successful in helping people return to their previous activities without the need for surgery.
CNSO takes a multidisciplinary approach to spine care. The team of professionals, together, develop the best treatment for each patient during the initial visit. CNSO provides all the necessary diagnostic experts and treatment in one place. This collaboration eliminates the need for multiple referrals at different doctors’ offices that can cause a delay in care and overall confusion.
If Surgery is Necessary
Sometimes surgery is the best treatment option, especially for those suffering from a brain tumor, spinal tumor, spinal deformity, scoliosis, or herniated discs. At CNSO, surgery is used as a treatment option only after nonsurgical treatments have been tried or if there is no medically based evidence of successful treatment. When surgery is the solution, CNSO surgeons are highly trained and proficient in the latest minimally invasive techniques for spine surgery and brain surgery. They are also among the first in New Jersey to implement the use of the artificial disc as an alternative to traditional fusion surgery as well as robotic surgery and neuro-navigation for brain surgery.
Patient Education
The best way to care for patients is to provide the correct information on their ailments so they can make the best decisions for themselves and their families. The education and treatment provided by the best doctor specialists is why CNSO patients recover faster.
