Located in Wayne, NE the Medical Center offers 21 spacious patient rooms, including 2 OB suites, 2 critical care rooms, and 1 hospice family room. The Medical Center also offers over 20 unique specialty physician services through the Outpatient Clinic and performs 14,000 procedures annually utilizing Providence’s laboratory, imaging, and surgical services. In addition to these services, PMC is home to several highly specialized behavior health, rehabilitation therapy, and wellness programs. Providence Medical Center employs over 200 individuals, making it one of the largest employers in Wayne and the surrounding area. To start off the new year, we recognize our January Departments of the Month: Laboratory Services and Surgical Services.

💉Medical laboratory scientists are the detectives of the healthcare world. They perform tests that give doctors important clues to diagnose and treat illnesses or injuries. Medical lab scientists are the third largest medical profession, after doctors and nurses. Approximately 70% of medical decisions are based on lab tests, along with other factors. This department performs the necessary tests to help our providers make the most informed decisions for their patient’s health and wellbeing.

🩺Our surgical care team is dedicated to giving patients a caring and positive hospital experience. Unlike larger hospitals, PMC offers a calm and comfortable place to recover after surgery, with more personal attention from our team. Our surgery department offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient surgeries, all provided by skilled and compassionate professionals who are committed to making your experience as comfortable as possible. This department focuses on healing and high-quality care so patients can return to their normal lives as soon as possible. PMC has an excellent nurse-to-patient ratio, meaning you or your loved one will receive more one-on-one care than at many other hospitals in the region.
