On Saturday, the John Corbly Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) celebrated honoring two of the four winners of the Good Citizens Awards. Mac Renner from Waynesburg and Mya Self from Mapletown, Jackson Grimes, West Greene and Cole J. Knight from Jefferson. They were given gifts, a certificate a monetary award.

The Waynesburg Library Club visited our Genealogical Facility last Thursday to celebrate 123 years of service to the Eva K. Bowlby Public Library with a luncheon and meeting. Kathy Miller gave a stellar lecture on all the genealogical material that our Cornerstone Library has to offer. It was lovely to see these amazing women who are stewards of our hometown public library.

On Tuesday, March 10, we will be hosting a discussion on past businesses that were once on Waynesburg's High Street. Come to our library with your memories, pictures, or artifacts to share with the rest of the group! The discussion starts at 6:00 PM and is open to the public.

Seventh grade students from the West Greene School District visited our library last week to learn about the resources available when studying our local history. We were excited to host such a great group of students!

This Tuesday, October 14, Zack Patton will be giving a presentation on the Downey House fire that took place in Waynesburg on December 23, 1925. The meeting will be in the old log courthouse on Greene Street and will begin at 6:00pm. These meetings are open to anyone who would like to attend.
