Went from Iced in , to rain , to gusty wind and it feeling like spring and , now back to the temperature dropping rapidly to the teens with single digits wind temp. Wow!these mountains make their own weather and no one will ever be able to predict how mother nature acts when she encounters them.It sure was nice to stay home with the family today ❤️

Time will heal
This was our first hike back up to the balsam k**b area on the Parkway since Helene. Seeing every landslide scare was a stab to my gut. Seeing how some parts of the the river are not even recognizable. But it's still here. It's changed but to walk in the spruce forest and to see the beautiful mountain ash blooming made my stomach at ease. It's changed but it's still so beautiful and time will heal her wounds.
