✨The Heart of HVO: Jessica ✨💙
We’re excited to highlight one of our dedicated HVO Board Members! She is fairly new to serving on the Board but has been aware of HVO’s impact on the community for quite some time and has always admired the meaningful work being done. It was truly an honor for her to be invited to serve and support an organization that plays such an important role in the community.
She was especially inspired by HVO’s commitment to empowering individuals of all abilities to live with purpose and independence. To her, the mission goes far beyond providing services—it’s about creating opportunities, building confidence, and fostering a true sense of belonging for every individual served.
In her professional life, she serves as the Vice President of Philanthropy & Marketing at Verner Center for Early Learning in Asheville, NC. Through her work, she brings a strong background in fundraising, partnerships, and donor engagement, offering valuable insight into how HVO can continue to grow and sustain its impact for years to come.
What stands out most to her about HVO is how deeply the organization centers the individuals it serves. Every program is intentional, personalized, and rooted in respect—creating an environment where people are truly seen, valued, and supported.
One of the most meaningful parts of her experience so far has been getting to know the individuals at HVO. Their stories, personalities, and the genuine sense of joy and belonging within the organization have made a lasting impression.
She also believes many people may not realize just how comprehensive HVO’s programs are. From life skills to vocational training and daily engagement, everything is designed with purpose—focused on growth, independence, and helping individuals lead fulfilling lives.
To her, HVO represents what a strong, compassionate community should look like.
Inclusive. Empowering. Transformational. 💙
