Need another reason to get registered for the 3rd Annual Pulaski County Wellness Conference? Check out one of our Breakout Session Speakers whose topic is "Fueling For Health."

"Fueling for Health" will explore the fundamental components of nutrition and the six essential nutrients. We will discover the new 2026 Dietary Guidelines for Americans and address obesity and chronic disease trends in our area and their implications for long-term health.

This presentation will disprove common myths about healthy eating and provide tools and strategies for making a diet of real, whole food possible with a busy schedule and a budget. Shopping strategies, navigating conflicting nutrition information, and effectively utilizing nutrition labels and technology will also be addressed to help us fuel our lives on quality, nutrient rich foods.

Audra Morrison is a Certified Health Education Specialist. She received her education in Community Health Education at Brigham Young University. She works in health promotion at Fort Leonard Wood Armed Forces Wellness Center providing programs and services to improve and sustain the health and performance of the Armed Forces.

Melissa will explain why and how you can trade your grumbling for gratitude to create a workplace that's both productive and cohesive.

And here's another reason to get registered for the 3rd Annual Pulaski County Wellness Conference happening on May 1 in Waynesville, MO. April Zaniewski's talk titled "Sleep Deprivation: The Silent Killer" will expose the hidden health crisis caused by chronic sleep loss. This presentation explores how inadequate sleep increases the risk of life-threatening conditions such as heart disease, stroke, obesity, diabetes, weakened immunity, mental health disorders, workplace errors, and motor-vehicle accidents. Attendees will learn the science behind sleep, recognize the warning signs of dangerous sleep debt, and gain practical, evidence-based strategies to improve sleep quality and protect long-term health, safety, and performance.

April is a seasoned registered nurse with 27 years of varied experience, ranging from in-hospital critical care, electrophysiology lab, leadership, and outpatient care, passionately specializing in electrophysiology for the last 22 years, and graduated with her Family Nurse Practitioner in 2021.
