Did you know that getting a USDA organic certification for honey produced in the U.S. is nearly impossible?

For honey to be considered organic, it must come from bees that collect nectar exclusively from organically grown flowers. This would require placing hives in the middle of at least three square miles of organically managed land - eliminating residential areas, golf courses, industrial zones, and potentially contaminated water sources.

If your store-bought honey carries an organic label, it was imported, and other countries may have different standards for organic certification than the U.S. If your local beekeeper claims their honey is organic, they’re not being completely honest.
