UPDATE: City offices are scheduled to open today (Thursday) at normal times. Trash pickup crews are working as scheduled as well. Any necessary updates will be shared as they are available. Have a great day and stay safe and warm. ❄️

The City of Weatherford is actively preparing for the anticipated winter weather and remains committed to keeping the community informed as conditions evolve. At this time, city offices are scheduled to remain open. Any updates will be shared on this page and the news section of City’s website (weatherfordtx.gov). Current preparations include:

🚨ROADWAYS
The City of Weatherford has four sanders and two plows as our primary equipment for snow removal. While we occasionally use other heavy equipment as needed, the sanders and plows are the core of our operations. Any pre-treating of roads is usually done by TxDOT on the major TxDOT roads in our city.

As of now, we plan to begin winter operations on Wednesday night. These operations will consist of two shifts: 8 personnel on day crew, and 5 personnel on nights.

Each crew will work 12-hour shifts to ensure continuous coverage. Additionally, we target roadways and access for critical facilities first (fire stations, hospitals, bridges).

🚛SANITATION
Right now, sanitation crews are scheduled as normal. We will share an update as soon as conditions are assessed and a determination is made. In the event service is cancelled, crew will begin collecting trash as soon as roads are clear enough for them to do so safely.

📱CUSTOMER SERVICE
While City offices are scheduled to be open, residents also have several options to conduct business online such as paying a utility bill, applying for a job, or checking on a permit. Those links may be accessed on our Online Services page: https://weatherfordtx.gov/3429/Online-Services
