Rain or shine, on Friday before the snow came in, Jamie Messer Barter and Jen Weldon volunteered at the Parker County Committee on Aging - Meals on Wheels and The Senior Center in Weatherford. They had the honor of helping seniors on fixed incomes shop for groceries and serving as their personal shoppers.

They truly appreciate the work the committee does and love being a part of such a wonderful community. Proud of them for getting out early and helping people stock up before the snow storm rolled in. 💛

As a friendly reminder, food donations are always needed, especially fresh items like bread, eggs, milk, and meats.

One of our Parker County clients, Major Daniel DuBoise, Retired U.S. Air Force, was surprised with a handcrafted model of the F-102 he flew during his distinguished service, including Vietnam. From becoming a pilot at just 19 to reminiscing about the thrill of going supersonic, his joy and spirit were truly lifted in this moment.

A heartfelt thank you to our Client Care Coordinator, Jamie Messer Barter, and her husband for sharing their time, thoughtfulness, and incredible talent to create such a meaningful gift. It’s these personal touches and genuine connections that make Comfort Keepers feel like family.

So grateful to support the Parker County Committee on Aging - Meals on Wheels and The Senior Center this morning. A few weeks ago while volunteering, we noticed the pantry could use more fresh essentials. Today we were happy to bring items like milk, eggs, meats and bread to help support seniors in our community.

Pictured is Activities Director Chandra Jerzyk who graciously received the items and our Community Liaison Jamie Barter. It truly takes a village, and we are thankful to give back during this holiday week of giving.

Any senior that you know who may be in need can visit the pantry, which is open every Friday from 9 to 11.

Jamie brings years of experience in senior care, dementia education, and community outreach. Her passion for serving seniors is also deeply personal. After caring for both of her parents, including her father who lived with Alzheimer's, she understands the challenges, emotions, and decisions families face when supporting a loved one.

Jamie is committed to connecting families with resources, guiding them through the care process, and helping seniors feel valued, respected, and supported.
