💗 Breast Cancer Awareness 💗

Today our family proudly wore pink to honor the fighters, survivors, and those we’ve lost to breast cancer. 💕 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime—a reminder of just how important awareness, early detection, and support truly are.

A special thank you to Couts Christian Academy, our son Sam’s school, for hosting their Pink Out Parade today and helping spread awareness in such a meaningful way. 🎀

Spotting the first hummingbird of the season was a delight, but sharing the news was met with a less-than-enthusiastic response. It felt like being teased for not knowing how to use a drill, even though help is often needed with such tasks. Has this ever happened to you?

Focus on incorporating lean protein and plenty of vegetables into meals. It takes time and practice, but perfection isn't the goal. The 80/20 rule—80% nutrient-dense foods, 20% flexibility to enjoy life—can be a helpful guideline. It's okay to indulge in treats in moderation.

ACOG reaffirms the safety and benefits of acetaminophen use during pregnancy.

Acetaminophen continues to be an important and safe option for managing pain and fever in pregnancy—conditions that can pose serious risks to pregnant patients and their fetuses if left untreated. 💯. This speaks in such a uniquely deep way to me…and likely to a lot of those in healthcare…

Here’s the thing about it though…it’s the patients that are the secret source of that motivation to persevere in those most reluctant of times.
It’s ironic too…that the bureaucracy, insurance companies, drug companies, administrative red tape, documentation requirements, etc of healthcare drive all of the patient-facing workforce to question their motivation to their profession.
I think it’s important for our own mental fortitude in healthcare that we realize we HAVE to show up because of the commitment to our patients, and in spite of those hurdles…

We will continue to show up for our patients.

Have a good evening yall!
