“Research shows just 30 minutes of skin to skin with dad on the first day of a newborn actually rewires dad’s brain. Stimulating many hormones especially Dopmine and Oxytocin so dads get connected to their babies and want to nurture them.” YES. Dads, get those cuddles in! ❤️

Twin births will always have a special place in my heart!

This is amazing!

Most twins do not need to be born via cesarean section. Period. You have choices and deserve explanations when those choices are resisted.

We need to normalize photos like this and take fear out of twin birth!

Exactly!!! Your baby get just what they need until your milk transitions. Colostrum is so important and nutrient dense. It’s literally baby’s first immune booster.

Your milk is already there.
It’s there before your baby is ever even born.

It starts out as colostrum, the most perfect first food for your baby.

This milk will be little in volume, but will be so dense. Not only in a physical sense(it is thicker than mature white milk), but it is also nutritionally dense.

Your baby’s tummy will be so tiny, and this milk will be enough. More than enough.

Your baby will nurse frequently..maybe non-stop. But, your breasts won’t be ‘dry’. This constant nursing, along with hormonal surges from birth, will let your body know that it’s time to start producing mature milk.

This constant skin to skin contact will release more hormones in support of milk production.

It is crucial for your baby and your future milk supply to allow unlimited access to your breast at this time.

Within a couple of days, your milk will start to shift. In color. In texture. In volume.

It’ll go from yellow to white.
Thick to thin.
A few drops to a half ounce or more.

Your milk doesn’t ‘come in’. It’s already there. It merely transitions.

This is incredible!!! Birth isn’t to be feared, you were made for this, even with a couple extra babies 😉💗💗💗

“It's not often that you hear of a triplet homebirth, but that's exactly what happened. With excellent nutrition and a lot of research and consultation by the mother, these triplets were carried safely to 35 weeks + 3 days (that's epic) and each baby weighed about 6 pounds (2 over, 1 right under) (also epic). What's even more remarkable is that the beautiful woman (who is also a midwife) who gave birth to these treasures is a surrogate giving the gift of motherhood to another woman. Incredible.”

Beautiful words and photo from Ohio Midwife Emily Schultz ❤❤❤

✨ BEAUTY ✨

“And then the moment will come when your baby is in your arms, and you’ll realize that never before have you felt this level of pride and joy. Then beauty will pour out and flood through the room, and we’ll all be captivated by you and your baby.”

After witnessing so many of these -moments- I can assure you, there is NO OTHER BEAUTY that can compare.
Seeing you, in all your power and your glory, with your baby in your arms is the most beautiful thing. It’s indescribable.
And I’m forever grateful for such privilege.
Forever grateful for the families that allow me to witness their sacred beauty.

“What in the world is that weird thing they’re doing?!” Who’s heard of a forward leaning inversion? 🙋🏻‍♀️ doing inversions every day can help you lengthen and soften your uterine ligaments, as well as help resolve any twist in the lower uterine segment. The weight of baby and uterus streeeeetches out those ligaments to reduce torque and helps baby get into a great position for birth. For more in depth info about this position and others, head to Spinning Babies ! This and other positions will be featured in our Labor Positions class releasing shortly!

Last night, I witnessed this incredible mom give birth to her 41 week twins, at home, peacefully and full of love. Here she is with her first baby, while her second is still inside

This position is called the "runner's lunge" it helps to really open the pelvic outlet!
...but do you want to know the best birthing position?

It's one where the birthing person is most comfortable, in control and respected-where the fetal positioning is honored along with the REAL emotions and soul imprint of mother & baby meeting earthside for the first time.
