Summer Napier of Healing Hands Healthcare has presented two Avive AEDs to the Weatherford Police Department, Texas, in support of the Parker County Hospital District’s “4-Minute Community” initiative.

What Is the “4-Minute Community” Initiative?
This effort, led by the Parker County Hospital District, aims to ensure that no one waits more than four minutes for life‑saving CPR and defibrillation in the event of sudden cardiac arrest, particularly in areas where EMS response may be delayed—often in rural parts of the county. The goal is to deploy a total of 214 AEDs across the county to help meet that four-minute target.

By delivering Avive AEDs to Weatherford police officers, Healing Hands Healthcare supports this critical initiative. Police officers often arrive at emergency scenes before EMS, and equipping them with AEDs means timely access to defibrillation, a response that can significantly improve outcomes in cardiac arrest situations. This approach aligns with the 4‑Minute Community model’s focus on bridging the gap between collapse and professional medical help.

Thank you to Summer Napier and Healing Hands Healthcare, and to the Weatherford Police Department for your partnership in strengthening emergency preparedness in our community.

🚑 Last Week with PCHD EMS 🚑

PCHD Paramedics had the privilege of hosting an Advanced Airway Management class for the skilled professionals at Mansfield Texas Fire Department this week!

This hands-on training covered critical airway techniques, including:

👉 Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI)

👉 Delayed Sequence Intubation (DSI)

👉 Resuscitation Sequence Airway (RSA)

👉 Crash Airway Management

Crews practiced essential life-saving skills such as:

🔹 Endotracheal Intubation — using MFD’s UE Scope for enhanced visualization

🔹 Cricothyrotomy

🔹 SALAD (Suction-Assisted Laryngoscopy and Airway Decontamination)

Our PCHD Paramedics wrapped up the training with high-fidelity scenario-based simulations using the iSimulate system, allowing teams to apply their skills in dynamic, real-time critical care situations.

Always a pleasure to collaborate with Mansfield Fire as we continue raising the bar for prehospital care!
