ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Weatherford is a 26-bed inpatient hospital that provides specialized rehabilitative services to patients living with disabling injuries or illnesses such as strokes, brain injuries, hip fractures, spinal injuries, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, or other medically-complex conditions. We help you recover to your fullest abilities, providing a specialized level of rehabilitative care that’s available only at medical rehabilitation hospitals. The hospital offers physical, occupational, and speech therapy; rehabilitative nursing, case management, respiratory therapy, dietary services, wound care management, orthotic and prosthetic services, and other specialized care. Karen came to ClearSky Weatherford after a fall that resulted in a left hip fracture.
After 16 days of intensive physical and occupational therapy, she was able to return home.

Please join us for our stroke support group tomorrow, Thursday, September 25th from 4-6 PM in our Butterfly Bistro.

We will be providing education and strategies on how to decrease stress and prevent a stroke during the holiday season.

Kirk, from Saginaw, Texas, came to ClearSky Weatherford after being diagnosed with a variant of Guillain-Barré syndrome.

What a champion! After 19 days of physical, occupational, and speech therapy, he declared, "I told my wife when I got here, 'Y'all wheeled me in, and I was going to walk out.'"

And that he did. Kirk walked out the doors, a testament to hard work, healing, and a positive attitude.

We are proud of you, Kirk, and glad we could be part of your recovery journey.

Did you know that your brain has the ability to form and reorganize connections between neurons in response to learning, experience, or injury? It’s called neuroplasticity. This is how we grow, heal, and change. Unlike rigid electrical circuits, neurons in the brain are flexible and capable of rewiring, which can play a crucial role in recovery after a spinal cord injury. Even when the spinal cord is damaged, the brain and nervous system can create new pathways to help restore lost functions and adapt to new ways of moving and living.

This week, ClearSky Weatherford celebrated National Rehabilitation Awareness Week the only way we know how — with fun, food and festivities!

Our themed days brought the fun all week long:
Barbecue Day featured a delicious lunch from ClearSky Weatherford's very own Butterfly Bistro.
Guacamole Day served up fun activities. We wore green and got the cutest avocado tattoos. Don't worry, they wash off.
Carnival Day? A full-on carnival experience!
Music Day had us rocking band tees and showing off our music trivia skills.
And we wrapped it all up with ClearSky Field Day — full of energy, laughter, and work spirit.

Every moment reminded us why we do what we do. We're proud to serve our community with compassion and care — and we’re so grateful for the recognition and celebration that fuels our mission.

What do goats, yoga mats, and a sunny afternoon have in common? A seriously fun wellness event, organized by ClearSky Weatherford’s Wellness Committee!

Our Goat Yoga community event yesterday was full of photo-worthy moments. From stretches and laughter to furry friends and fresh air, it was more than just a good time. It was a reminder that staying active and living well doesn’t have to be all serious business. Wellness is a lifelong journey, and community, creativity, and joy are just as important as clinical milestones.

It may not have been a rehabilitation session, but the goal was the same: move your body, breathe deeply, and celebrate every step forward, even if it’s on four legs.

Meet Mallory, Director of Patient Outcomes.

Mallory is celebrating 10 years with ClearSky Weatherford this month! Her clinical background is in occupational therapy, and both of her parents are therapists, so she was exposed to the career from a young age.

Early on, she had the opportunity to observe an older gentleman being fitted for a new lower-limb prosthetic while his wife was present. She remembers him standing up, looking at his wife, and saying, “Okay, now we can go dancing!” It was in that moment she realized healthcare would give her the chance to be part of these life-changing experiences every day.

One of her most memorable moments at ClearSky Weatherford came from working with a 102-year-old patient many years ago. Mallory says, “He had such a positive spirit and an unbelievable outlook on life. I loved listening to his stories and cheering on his success. As healthcare professionals, we think we are joining the field to help others, but often it is our patients who teach us a thing or two as well. This gentleman left a lasting impression on me about the power of kindness and selflessness.”

Outside of work, Mallory enjoys playing golf with her husband, spending time with her daughters, and taking long walks.

Sepsis is a life-threatening medical emergency that happens when the body’s response to infection harms its own tissues and organs. It leads to more than 350,000 adult deaths each year in the U.S. Recognizing the signs early is critical. Remember, it’s about TIME:

T – Temperature: higher or lower than normal
I – Infection: signs or symptoms of infection
M – Mental decline: confusion, sleepiness, or difficult to rouse
E – Extremely ill: severe pain or discomfort

If you experience any of these symptoms, seek medical attention immediately.
