Today’s assignment: Greet light, w/ light, in light first 🕊️

10/03/2025

If you get dizzy or a round of vertigo, your goal is to:

✔️ Stabilize blood flow so the brain is well-oxygenated.

✔️Calm the vestibular system by reducing rapid head movement and supporting a neutral, steady position.

✔️ Soothe the nervous system so the “threat response” doesn’t amplify the dizziness.

Here are some Supportive Positions (and Why They Work)

❤️ Side-lying with head slightly propped: Keeps the inner ear from feeling like it’s “falling back,” and avoids blood pooling in the head/neck.

❤️ Knees bent (supine or side-lying): Prevents blood from pulling in the legs, supports circulation back to the heart and brain.

❤️ Cool compress on forehead or eyes: Calms the nervous system and reduces sensory overwhelm.

❤️ Small sip of water: Addresses mild dehydration, which can worsen dizziness.

❤️ Eyes open, soft gaze: Looking at one fixed point helps recalibrate the inner ear and brain’s orientation.

Where might you be in three months if you said yes?

This is one of my favorite pictures from St. Croix—even though I had arrived and my luggage did not. I was walking around the Caribbean in a polyester, non-breathable travel tank, still in socks and shoes.

BUT - it marked the beginning of a beginning.
A chapter that wouldn’t have started if I hadn’t said yes to an invitation to teach in the USVI.

That chapter continues this summer as I invite you to say yes.

Yes to strengthening your body.
Yes to nourishing your nervous system.
Yes to coming into rhythm.
Yes to connecting beyond—through your gifts and with your breath.

This summer is designed to be fun, informational, and supportive of you living your absolute best life. And it all officially starts on 6/22 at our Summer Ayurvedic Brunch with small groups launching on the auspicious new moon on 6/25.

Saying yes brought me into experiences, friendships, and purpose.

Where will it take you?

Stock up on credits tonight before our summer season sale ends at midnight and then go sign up for the program that will take you where you want to go ✨✨✨

✨This is both a reflection and an announcement ✨

Our inaugural St. Croix group (yes, we are going back), woke early on our last morning all together to take an open air trolley to Pt. Udall: the furthest most eastern point in the island and place of the first sunrise of the United States.

It’s safe to say that this morning proved meaningful on a level maybe nobody expected.

The silence as we waited for something we knew but that would also show up new.

There were soft tears as we felt what connected us to the sky and to the people who have come before us, or who left us too early.

As the sun rose, it was celebratory. More pictures, the silence broke and there were greetings… it was only right to properly greet the sun. We flowed through both the QiGong Greeting of the Sun and some half Sun Salutations…

Honoring this full circle of day and night… again, a marker in nature that brings us back to OM - to the full circle of life and the sound we make to honor that what taught our ancestors and will teach our descendants -

Completely in awe of the author of creation - thou that made the trees - for all we saw and all that laid beneath the oceans surface -

It’s in this that I find unique charge in announcing a new offer at OM: the OM Creative Circle.

Is it time in the studio to work on projects and connect? Yes, sure of course it is.

But it’s also time to connect the idea that you create just as the author of creation creates - share stories - and feel the power of making as more than a hobby but a unique expression of the divine through YOU.

Starting Sundays, June 8th 3:30p - 4:30p
See you there 🫶🏼❤️✨

What is a “yoga vacation”?

When I accepted the invitation to bring The Stillness Practices™ down to St. Croix, I thought it might be fun—definitely fun—to open the trip up and let a few folks crash my Airbnb and hang out.

What I thought would be 2 or 3 people quickly turned into about 12… so we rented a bed and breakfast and opened the doors to more.

We had people celebrating graduations, birthdays, and big life milestones. Writers and photographers. Free spirits and executives. Some journaled while others snorkeled. Some snorkeled instead of vinyasa, and some skipped vinyasa entirely and opted only for the naps I taught in the afternoons (yoga nidra).

But every single one of them? Open-minded, incredibly kind, and uniquely able to contribute their own energy, skills, and presence to the moment. Thank you - Sharon, Shelby, Macy, Nora, Eric, Kelly, Laura, Lisa, Beth, Cindy, Linda, Bob, Jimmy, Kathy, Jules, Nicole, Cindy, Rachael, Anthony, Traci, Jamie, and Clara for making this trip exactly what it needed to be ✨🫶🏼🌴🌊🌺

Here we are, capturing our group photos for the Webster Kirkwood Times.

Now the big question:
Which one should we send in?
