📣📣THERAPEUTIC ≠ THERAPY!!!!!📣📣 Talking to a life coach, hairdresser, bartender, your dog, art teacher, acupuncturist, massage therapist, any therapist that is NOT in the role of clinical mental health/ psychology/psychiatry in that moment, even a school counselor, is NOT getting therapy and MORE IMPORTANTLY, IF YOU ARE IN THOSE ROLES, STOP TELLING THE WORLD YOU PROVIDE THERAPY IN THOSE ROLES OR THAT YOU ARE A THERAPIST IN THOSE ROLES (unless you are the dog. Dogs can continue to do so)!!! I said what I said. 🎤

Maybe it's a lesson in patience? Endurance? Grace? Coping with not knowing? That you can do really hard things? I bet if you look for the lesson in the moment, your perspective of the moment will shift in such a way that it becomes more doable, even if it's still very painful.

We are in need of practice. Amongst the themes that we are learning in our life is the importance of allowing ourselves to feel hurt. To name it and mobilize the empowered courage needed to communicate it. However, there is another place we must look that will enable us to illuminate how hurt arose....

One of the most heartbreaking parts of being a parent is realizing there's someone who never got to meet your child. Someone who would have loved them with everything they had.

And sometimes, in the quiet moments, you find yourself imagining what it would feel like if they could just hold your baby. Even just once. Even for a second.

It's a grief that lives silently beside the joy. A love that still exists, even without ever being shared in person.

So if you're missing someone today, you're not alone. And it's okay to carry both love and sadness in your heart at the same time.
