What a fun experience this could be!!!
Beginning in September I am super excited to be able to offer the Tinkergarten experience for your private event! Take one thing off that mental list for your child’s party! You provide the venue, decorations and refreshments. I provide all necessary materials and lead up to an hour of Tinkergarten songs, stories and activities for up to 15 children. Host families can choose a theme like Bubble Joy, Stone Soup, Nature Art, or Forest Friends. The birthday child receives choice of an official TG t-shirt or our signature stainless steel pail and a memento for each guest. Cost: $50 plus $10/guest. Recommended for Ages 2-8. Available in Rochester, Eastern Monroe, Western Wayne and Northern Ontario Counties.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 10:00am-6:00pm

“Guided play can take a lot of different forms, which is maybe why it can be difficult to conceptualize, but it really comes down to an experience or interaction that’s initiated by an adult but maintains child’s agency. With that interaction, children have agency and freedom to explore and discover things on the way to meeting learning goals.” Free play continues to be very important, and guided play is the next step for meeting learning goals while continuing to follow the child’s lead and interests.
Everyday interactions offer plenty of chances for playful learning

We often work on gaining joint attention and having back and forth exchanges with our clients, as well as getting them to imitate sounds, gestures, words, movements. This video is a great example of children and adults engaging in all these things!

As the holidays are here, we often have parents asking what toys would make the most impact for their child. This article has many good ideas for appropriate toys for all ages. Remember, many of these toys can be used for a wide variety of age ranges, and all children develop at different rates, and demonstrate interests at different times. Pulling out toys that a child may not have been interested in at first might surprise you after a few months. . .they might be completely interested in it now! Check it out, and let us know what some of your favorite toys are for certain ages!
