Seniors & New Year’s Eve Celebrations:

✨ Concentrate on what's important to your loved one, and don't worry about the rest.

✨Celebrate in a familiar environment to reduce stress and promote comfort.

✨If the senior has an established routine, respect their routine and try to maintain them as much as possible. Provide a balance between festive activities, quiet and restful time.

✨Consider celebrating the New Year earlier in
the evening to accommodate the senior's bedtime. This can include a special dinner, countdown, and toasts.

✨Play music from their favorite era or genre to evoke positive memories.Choose entertainment that is enjoyable and not overly stimulating.

✨ If your loved one has dementia, lower your expectations and blame the tough moments on dementia disease not the person.

✨Create a relaxing atmosphere. Dim the lights and offer comfortable seating with soft blankets for warmth.
