Today, pause for a moment and look for what’s beautiful in the world. Perhaps the sound of laughter, the color in the sky at dawn, or the first blush of spring on the trees. What’s still beautiful in your world?

How to support the grieving:
- Ask them for stories.
- Send a handwritten note with a special memory or words of encouragement.
- Help them make decisions.
- Don’t talk about the future or try to fix how they’re feeling.
- Anticipate their needs. Don’t wait for them to call and ask for help, because they probably won’t.
- Be consistent – keep showing up even after the initial period of grieving. Not everything will be the right thing to say at the right time, but being present will be a great comfort.

Love is stronger than death even though
it can't stop death from happening,
but no matter how hard death tries
it can't separate people from love.
It can't take away our memories either.
In the end, life is stronger than death.

Sometimes, it can be easy to forget how impactful a funeral or memorial service is. A funeral service helps survivors find meaning and purpose in living, even after the loss of a loved one. They also help to provide acknowledgement of the reality of death, crucial public affirmation and healing social support, and celebration of a life well-lived.
