After five years of partnership with Apex Counseling of Morgantown, I will begin operating Nautilus Counseling, LLC as an independent counseling practice on July 1st. I’m thankful for my time with Apex Counseling, where I grew in confidence as a counselor and clarified my vision for operating a counseling practice. I’m also incredibly grateful for the support I’ve received from my husband, my family and friends, colleagues, and my clients. Five years ago entering the world of private practice felt so overwhelming, and now I can’t imagine doing this work any other way. Last week I spent two days in Columbus attending an EMDR GAP Training by Scaling Up EMDR. I learned protocols and techniques for applying desensitization and reprocessing in situations where the standard EMDR protocol is just not the right fit. I look forward to better serving my current and future clients who will benefit from these additional protocols. It is so important to me to continue expanding my knowledge and skills so that I am best prepared for what my clients need, and I'm grateful I had the opportunity to do just that with a great group of fellow clinicians.

I get a lot of questions about EMDR therapy. EMDR is an effective treatment for trauma of all kinds, but it can be difficult to understand and seem a little intimidating. I've written an overview of what it's like, along with a little bit about my training and experiences.

I have received endorsement as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor from the Ohio CSWMFT Board, which means I now am able to offer telehealth counseling services to folks living anywhere in Ohio! I'm looking forward to the new connections I will make and the opportunities I will have to help through this expansion of my services.
