Due to inclement weather we will probbaly be opening later than normal on 1-26-26. Depending on road conditions as to what time we will open. We are keeping the safety of our staff and customer in mind as we make this decision. I will make a post when we open and you can also call. Thank you.

Flat Iron is saddened to learn of the passing of our former employee, Selma Swafford, who everyone called "Punkin". Punkin was first to greet everyone when they walked into our store, always by name and with a smile and kind word. The official obituary follows:

Ms. Selma Swafford, affectionately known as "Punkin," age 61, resided at 93 1/2 McDowell Street in Welch, West Virginia. She passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025 in the comforts of her home.

Ms. Swafford's Arrangements are incomplete at Gregory-Page Funeral Home in Welch.
