Coalwood Volunteer Fire Department consists of volunteers that are on call 24/7 to respond to Structure Fires , Motor Vehicle Accidents , and First Responds to Medical Alarms , Also CVFD does its best to support the Community needs and provides the Comfort of knowing that We are always there for them ! We are surrounded by Two Departments War and Welch Fire Departments that are excellent Fire Departments , that provide Mutual Aid for us and us for them !

At approximately 1645 hrs Coalwood Fire Dept answered a private citizens complaint of a tree down on RT 16 just outside Coalwood. 202 utility 1 and 5 firefighters responded. Road was open at approximately 1700

Final tree was cut down. The new landing zone will be available for use in a couple weeks

Engines are currently chained up and ready to roll. We kindly request that you stay off the roads and avoid putting yourself and others at risk. Please be advised that the Coalwood-Caretta VFD is a designated warming station. If an emergency arises, please call 911 or reach out to a member, as the firehouse is currently unattended.
