With Advent upon us, we held our annual courtyard Christmas Tree Lighting celebration last night! We gathered at windows and waited patiently through the countdown before the switch was flipped...and our beautiful tree and courtyard were bathed in festive holiday lights! Next came Christmas carols - we are truly in the spirit of the Season now!!

Our residents are supporting the St. John Christmas Wish program again this year, which provides clothing, special gifts and food cards to children in need and their families. The residents hand decorated lovely Christmas Tree ornaments that are available to our visitors and friends for a donation to the program. A lunchtime conversation pondering "how can we help" evolved into a campus-wide food drive! We were delighted to deliver numerous boxes and bags of food in addition to over $800 in donations to the Wellesley Food Pantry. Our Veterans Day program included a visit from Wellesley Veterans - all graduates of Wellesley High! - who took time to share their Stories with Elizabeth Seton and Marillac Residence staff and residents. Our Veteran Residents were presented with certificates and pins, then joined the Town of Wellesley, MA Veterans for a group photo and sharing more stories. We also honored and thanked our staff who are themselves veterans, or have a child currently serving. We are grateful to all for their service!

We recently welcomed students from Newton Country Day School of the Sacred Heart for a wonderful day of engagement - in addition to escorting and joining our residents at daily Mass, the girls led an exercise group and followed up with a Q&A. It was fun reminiscing about our residents' favorite classes and activities during their youth, followed up with the students sharing their own favorites. Great learning much about each other and enjoying the day! Many thanks to these exceptional young ladies for sharing their time and talents.

Our wonderful garden runneth over and we got creative with our amazing white eggplants - we've been tending the garden and harvesting herbs, with the eggplants finally ready to go. Our DIning Director Molly from Unidine Corporation and Activities Director Karen helped us create delicious eggplant mini-pizzas. SO good, fresh from the garden...which is still going strong! Thanks again Wellesley Hills Junior Women's Club for our new garden!

We love baby animals, and the visit from Barn Babies was amazing and therapeutic! Staff couldn't resist joining the residents as we cuddled baby bunnies, cats, and George the potbelly pig! And we all loved the goat...in his adapted diaper 🤗 Thank you, Barn Babies Traveling Petting Zoo !
