Strength training remains one of the most overlooked interventions in both rehabilitation and preventative care.

Far too often, traditional physical therapy stops at restoring basic function, failing to adequately challenge patients or rebuild the capacity they’ve lost. This overly conservative approach leaves people underprepared for the physical demands of real life.

The body adapts to the stimulus it receives.

If you train it as if it’s fragile, it will remain that way — or become even more so.

Progressive strength training not only builds lean muscle, which enhances force production and joint stability, but it also improves metabolic function and supports insulin sensitivity. It stimulates bone remodeling through mechanical loading, helping to combat age-related bone density loss. More importantly, it provides the physical resilience necessary to reduce injury risk and sustain independence as we age.

Muscle isn’t just about strength — it’s a cornerstone of long-term health.

🚨 Welcoming our newest residents for the summer❗️(part 2 of 2)

Gavin McConnell earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from American International College. With a background in personal training and years of experience coaching diverse clients, Gavin brings a results-driven approach to rehab, one that bridges clinical precision with performance-based outcomes.

His goal is to guide driven individuals from pain and limitation to strength, consistency, and confidence that lasts. Before entering physical therapy, Gavin ran a small personal training business, working with busy professionals, parents, and athletes to help them build strength, stay active, and stay consistent. That experience made him aware of some of the gaps in traditional rehab, and sparked a desire to provide more comprehensive care.

Gavin focuses on one-on-one treatment that combines manual therapy, strength and conditioning principles, and techniques from the Postural Restoration Institute (PRI). His goal is to help clients move and feel better, not just in the short term, but for the long haul.

Outside of work, Gavin enjoys lifting weights, practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and spending time with his fiancée, family, and friends. Gavin is also a proud member of Slytherin House.

🚨 Welcoming our newest residents for the summer❗️(part 1 of 2)

Wyatt Keith received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from American International College in Springfield, MA, where he also earned his Bachelor’s in Health Science with a minor in Exercise Science. His journey into physical therapy began on the football field, where an early interest in performance training sparked a lifelong passion for health and movement. Over the years, Wyatt has transformed that passion into a career centered around helping others live to their fullest potential—moving better, feeling stronger, and thriving longer.

Wyatt enjoys working with clients across all ages and ability levels, with a mission to shatter age-related stereotypes and empower people to reach new heights in their physical capacity. Known for his energetic and progressive training style, Wyatt encourages his clients to lift heavy, challenge their limits, and redefine what they believe their body is capable of—safely and sustainably. He believes that building strength is one of the most powerful tools in preventive medicine and long-term wellness.

He is SFMA certified, trained in blood flow restriction therapy, and integrates Postural Restoration Institute (PRI) principles to treat the whole person—not just the injury. Wyatt takes a holistic approach to care that prioritizes individualized intensity, proper loading, and long-term results.

Outside the clinic, Wyatt enjoys training hard, exploring exotic food combinations (the weirder the better), and diving into theology, philosophy, and personal development—frequently reflecting on how to sharpen his skills, grow in character, and better understand the world. He is happily married to his wife, Alexus, and is a proud father to his son, Malakai. Family time, adventure, and seeing the world through his son’s eyes are some of his greatest joys. Wyatt is also a proud member of Gryffindor House.
