Women and Alzheimer's

Women and Alzheimer's Cure Alzheimer's Fund, a non-profit funding research to prevent, slow, or reverse Alzheimer's. By age 75, she is three times as likely.

6 million Americans suffer from Alzheimer's Disease.
3 million of them are Women. At age 65, a woman is twice as likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease as a man. Alzheimer’s disease devastates its victims and their families and disrupts their lives in multiple, complicated ways. It is especially cruel to women; they are more often afflicted by the disease than men and are also more commonly the primary caretaker in their family.

. Our Co-Founder and Board member, Jacqui Morby, was one of the pioneering women in the field of Venture Capital for tech firms. As a Managing Director of TA Associates, Jacqui took on the challenges of working in what was then a predominantly male industry. Jacqui’s generosity and experience have been invaluable to Cure Alzheimer’s Fund. “Applying the approach of a venture capitalist to a philanthropic organization was a new concept at the time we started Cure Alzheimer’s Fund. We call it the venture approach to solving a difficult problem. We back the best people, leading scientists from all over the world. We’re making tremendous progress that wouldn’t have been made without the fund.” Thank you, Jacqui.
