This busy and growing Plastic Surgery practice in Natick is seeking a skilled front office professional to join our team. The right candidate would be the first impression both on the phone and at the front desk and should have a caring and positive attitude.
Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
Checking patients in and out of appointments
· Verifying insurance eligibility
· Processing co-payments, procedure payments and product payments
· Scheduling appointments within the office and for outside providers
· Obtaining insurance referrals
· Obtaining prior authorizations
· Answering incoming calls
Sending out patient registration forms electronically
Ensuring the patient and health history forms are complete
· Scanning, uploading and faxing documents
· Communicating effectively with patients of all ages
Starting the encounter notes for patient visits
· Mailing out surgical packets
Teamwork

The Front Office Coordinator should have excellent customer service skills. Previous medical office experience and knowledge of electronic health records are preferred but not required for the right candidate.

This position is for a Surgical Coordinator in a growing Plastic Surgery Practice. The Surgical Coordinator monitors and coordinates all surgical scheduling functions, including answering patient, insurance and hospital inquiries. The Coordinator obtains prior authorizations for surgical procedures and schedules cosmetic and reconstructive procedures at one of our hospital locations per the surgeon's preferences. You will provide complete pre-op packets with the proper surgical location, time of surgery and all other instructions, assuring that surgeries may proceed as scheduled. Follows established systems to monitor and track all the surgical functions and acts as a liaison between the patient, hospital and insurance companies. You will also provide support with daily activities of a medical office including greeting patients, telephone coverage, appointment scheduling, patient registration, and patient referrals as needed. Scans and uploads the documents and records them into the patient’s electronic health record. Coordinates referrals for patients through insurance and other physician offices. Collects payment from patients for office and cosmetic procedures. Maintains a clean, orderly and safe front office environment for patients and visitors. This is a full time position working 37 hours a week.

Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Bilingual in English and Portuguese/Spanish a plus
Prior experience scheduling surgery
Experience with Insurance Prior Authorization process
Medical Office experience
Proficient in typing, data entry and the ability to multi-task, phone and computer
Knowledge of medical terminology
Demonstrates a professional attitude and appearance
Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (Care360 Quest Quanum a plus)
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, staff and physicians.
