Dr. Mark Markarian, MD, MSPH is a Harvard-trained, Board-Certified Aesthetic Plastic Surgeon with ex

Dr. Markarian was born in London and grew up overseas in Cyprus, Singapore, and Thailand, before relocating to the United States at the age of 10. Dr. Markarian speaks four languages – English, Armenian, Arabic, and Greek – and his unique background has allowed him to instantly connect with his patients through an unparalleled appreciation and understanding of diversity. Dr. Markarian understands the delicate interplay between appearance and self-confidence. He believes that everyone has a unique vision of their personal aesthetic ideal that should be understood by your plastic surgeon. ✅ I always try to share immediate postop pics in the OR with my patients to allow them to see what their final results will look like. Notice how well the immediate postop photo in the OR compares to her 8 month result! 😊

✅ I perform steroid injections every 2-3 months after surgery to make the swelling come down faster and reduce the risk of scarring. It typically takes 12-18 months for ALL the swelling to resolve.

✅ Notice how the tip stays in the perfect position even when smiling 😊

✅ Incision is practically invisible ☝️

This 19 y/o 5’3 woman is looking great at just 6 weeks after a short-incision with 300cc smooth round moderate plus . A dual plane technique was utilized where the breast tissue was separated from the muscle to also allow a subtle LIFT of the ni**le and improved SYMMETRY of the AR**LA overall, with 2/3 of the implant being under the muscle. I always try to place the implants LOW to minimize the “drop and fluff” stage and help every woman reach her final results sooner, just like in this lovely lady...

Rhinoplasty: 2 years Postop (22 months to be exact) 😊... This young lady wanted a refined tip and natural looking nose. Look how close her final results are to her immediate postop photos taken in the OR...

People always ask about the recovery time following a . It takes time for the swelling to come down and so I always try to share the immediate postop photos from the operating room (OR) with my patients to allow them to get an idea of their final results and have something to look forward to while the swelling improves over time — see the final pic ☝️

75% of the swelling comes down after a month while the rest takes a year to a year and half. To accelerate the swelling resolution, I see patients in the office every 2-3 months for steroid injections to the nose, especially the tip, to further help with recovery time...

Trust the process! ☝️. This happy young woman is 10 months postop following a A hump reduction was performed, the nose was narrowed, the tip was refined and deprojected, and multiple grafts (cartilage, mastoid fascia, bone) were used, all while maintaining a natural result. Her recovery process is shown — the immediate postop results in the OR, the “reveal” when the splint is removed the following week, and her 10 month video and photos ☝️

Please note how close the immediate postop results (taken in the operating room), are to the final results. I always try to share these photos with patients to give them something to look forward to as they wait for all the swelling to come down — 75% of the swelling comes down after a month while the rest takes 12-18 months. To accelerate the swelling resolution, I perform steroid injections every 2-3 months to help with recovery time...

Also notice how the tip stays in the perfect position even when smiling and the scar is unnoticeable in the “worm’s eye” view (taken from below the patient).
