📣 Advocacy Alert: We Need Your Help!

Do you use financial assistance or copay programs? If you have commercial insurance and are treated at ELC, chances are you do! The average MS medication costs over $100,000 per year. Without financial assistance counting toward your out-of-pocket costs, many patients couldn’t afford their treatment.

Last week, our Executive Director met with MA State Senator Eldridge to discuss copay accumulator bills S.698 and H.1101, which would preserve this vital financial assistance.

For these bills to move forward, lawmakers need to hear from constituents like you! The Infusion Access Foundation has created a simple form to email your lawmakers and request their support.

📣 Send your message today and let them know how important copay assistance is for you:

📢 Important Information for Patients Who Have MRIs at Shields Health
Shields MRI has recently changed their medical record policy and is no longer keeping MRI image files older than seven years. This change was made without notifying patients or doctors first.
For people living with multiple sclerosis, older MRI images are very important for tracking changes and making the best treatment decisions.
💡 What you can do:
✅ If you’ve had MRIs done at Shields, ask for copies of your images so you can keep them for your records.
✅ Reach out to Shields with your concern about their policy change
Your medical history is an important part of your health journey—make sure you have access to it!

Our Executive Director was in Washington, D.C. yesterday representing The Elliot Lewis Center at the Annual Hill Day with NICA - National Infusion Center Association! 💙

Hill Day is an important chance for us to meet with lawmakers and advocate for YOU—making sure patients can get the infusion treatments they need, when they need them.

Advocating for better access to care is something we work on all year, and events like this help us share your stories and make your voices heard.

Thank you to for bringing providers together and giving us a platform to push for change!

🚨 Important Message to Our Community
The Infusion Access Foundation is deeply concerned about the proposed "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" that could drastically cut Medicaid funding and reduce access to essential healthcare for millions of Americans.

This legislation threatens our most vulnerable patients—Medicaid recipients, Affordable Care Act enrollees, SNAP recipients, individuals with disabilities, and families and children who depend on these vital programs for their health and wellbeing.

Where things stand: This legislation still faces hurdles - it hasn't cleared the Senate yet, and if it does, it must return to the House for another vote. We want our community to know that we are monitoring every development closely. We will do everything in our power to stand up for infusion patients and advocate for policies that put patient health first.

How you can help: Your voice matters in this fight. Click the link below to automatically send a letter to your federal legislators asking them to protect Medicaid and the patients it serves: 👉

Remember: You are not alone—we are here with you. ❤️
